At this time, we are in the process of locating and raising up a new male Golden. Once he is old enough to begin breeding, we can start trying to have puppies again. When I know one of my females is pregnant, I will begin contacting people on my waiting list to see who is still interested. Puppies! Hopefully you’ll have a nice litter in the future. It’s because Woody’s daddy died, correct? I was telling my daughter about your post and that’s what I was thinking. My next Golden will be a female, I think, and more of a dedicated service dog—Woody is great but he likes Lisa better than me so when she is with us, he trips me getting to her :-). I love him though. Keep me posted!

I have so many questions as I “prepare to prepare” ME! Too bad we can’t sit down over dinner. Can you recommend a good book to buy that will help me get ready? I have questions about timing of getting a puppy, what to feed them, who is a good trainer that can help train me so I can train the puppy properly, etc.
I am still working thanks to the Ukrainian situation with the stock market! Ugh. I used to have two Goldens and it has been a long time since I have had a dog. When I retire (soon), I will want one because I will be able to devote the time to one! Thank you!

I wish I could recommend a book but I don’t really use books for training. I like to watch trainers on video. It helps to watch them in action for me. I just look up well-reviewed trainers and find one I can relate to and understand. I have also used a puppy training class in the past. I wish I had more information for you but I just don’t know about training books. Sorry, and I hope you are able to find something.
